Mrs. Tammi Madden

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Westfield!  I am excited to be working with your child to enhance their English language and understanding of academic vocabulary during this school year!

For the past nine years, I have been teaching at Westfield, enjoying multiple roles. I have supported students in the modified classrooms, was the lead coordinator of the Inside Out Club and am the lead teacher for the WIN (Welcoming In Newcomers) Club.  I have been enjoying my role of as the EL teacher at Westfield for over 5 years now.  Before coming to Westfield, I taught special education in a private school in Glen Ellyn, along with working as a developmental therapist in early intervention with children from birth to three years old.

I enjoy getting to know the families in our area and working with children from diverse backgrounds in multiple settings.  It is so rewarding to see students making friends and their families becoming more involved in our d89 community.    I am excited to get to know your children and to help them feel as comfortable as possible in the English Language among their academics as well as with their peers.

Personal: I live in Glen Ellyn with my husband and our dog LuLu. We have four children ages 20-30.  We are happy to say they all live in the Chicago area and our youngest is a sophomore at KU, enjoying college life.  In my free time I like reading, cycling, hiking, traveling and meeting new people. I get the most pleasure out of making new friends. I enjoy hearing their stories and how it has made them who they are today. I can't wait to hear your story!

I look forward to meeting you and your family!  Please feel free to call my extension (3388) or email me at the contact information to the left. Please feel free  to come to our classroom to share something about your culture. Reach out if you would like to come in. The children really enjoy this!
