Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Michael Miles
Hi, my name is Michael Miles and this is my first year at Arbor View, where I teach fifth-grade music. I began my teaching career in California where I taught middle and elementary school. My wife and I moved to Illinois five years ago where I taught elementary school in Joliet and Worth.
I attended college at the University of the Pacific in Stockton Calfornia and also received a Master of Music degree from Boston University. I returned to California and got my teaching license in music from San Francisco State University.
I love seeing a student's musical curiosity develop, and I look forward to the musical journeys we will take this year at Arbor View!
Here is the first assignment for the week of Monday March 23:
Time to do a little imaginary practice. Click on the links below and play along with your imaginary ukuleles, fingering the chords as if you were really playing. Believe it or not, this will actually help to keep your skills sharp and remember the chord fingerings. Feel free to skip over chords that are new to you. If you happen to have a ukulele at home then play along. Also try to get your strumming hand (right hand) to match the strum patterns as you hear them. Have fun!
There is nothing to hand in this time but if you have a chance, send me an email and let me know how your virtual practicing went. I hope you all are well and I miss seeing you in class!
