Remote learning will resume on Tuesday, April 7, for all CCSD 89 students
Remote learning will resume on Tuesday, April 7, for all CCSD 89 students.
There is no remote learning on Monday, April 6. That day, all CCSD 89 teachers will be working to develop plans for the extended 'stay-at-home' order. Staff will be holding district-wide virtual meetings to plan within their school and across grade levels. Staff will be reviewing the district's e-learning plans in order to create lessons and assignments to help students work on essential skills that will help them progress during remote learning. Friday, April 10 is a scheduled day off.
Teachers will be having these same planning meetings on Monday, April 13; Monday, April 20; and Monday, April 27, so there will be no remote learning on those days.
Attendance and grading
Students will need to check in for attendance starting Tuesday, April 7. Your student's classroom teacher will communicate how they expect students to check in for attendance. In addition to meeting state mandates, this attendance also serves as a well-being check on CCSD 89 students.
CCSD 89 is committed to providing a continuity of learning throughout this remote-learning period. When remote learning resumes, grading in CCSD 89 classes will be on a 'do-no-harm' basis. Feedback will be provided to students to help their learning progress. Students' grades will not be negatively impacted during this time.
Thank you
The entire staff of Community Consolidated School District 89 would like to thank you for your willingness to partner with us to continue learning for your students. Thank you for your patience and your commitment to education during this unusual time.

It can be challenging to share the right amount of COVID-19 information with kids. We've gathered a few resources to help you explain what's happening: https://bit.ly/2JaX14E
