    FUN FACT OF THE DAY:

Sassafras treees, especially when you crush their leaves or scratch their bark, release a strong, sweet and fruity aroma that many people compare to the smell of Fruit Loops cereal.

    UPCOMING EVENTS

    May 29: Eighth-grade promotion

May 30: Last day of school – morning attendance for students

Tech issues - we need your help!

Parents we could use your support with two tech related issues. First, please remind your students to plug in their chrome books to charge every night. They should also store their charger in their chrome book case in the event it needs to be plugged in during the day.

Second, we have seen an increase in the number of students wearing smart watches. For some students this is becoming a significant distraction in class. We have found students using their watches to search for answers on tests and texting during class. We will be treating their smart watches like their phones. If they are caught using a watch inappropriately during class time, they will be asked to take it off and put it on the teacher's desk until the end of the period. If it becomes a more chronic problem, parents will be notified and the student will not be allowed to wear the watch during the school day. If your child has a smart watch, please review with them that it should not be used as a phone during the school day. Thank you for your support!

    Lunch Drop-offs

Parents are not allowed to drop off food or treats for students other than their own.  This includes food deliveries from restaurants or delivery services.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Did your student forget something at home?

If your child forgets something at home, you can drop it off at school if it is essential. There are bins in the front entrance for each grade level. Students can check those bins during a passing period or during lunch. We cannot disrupt class every time a student forgets something.

We all forget things once in a while, however if your student is chronically forgetting things, it may be helpful to pack up backpacks the night before to avoid the morning rush. Once routines are established, sometimes, the best way to help them be prepared is to let them experience the natural consequences of being unprepared once or twice

    Drop Off & Pick Up

All students should be dropped off and picked up in the lane in front of Glen Crest along Sheehan (see photo below). We ask that you approach school from the west, heading east toward Rt. 53. Do not allow your student to exit your vehicle until you pull into the lane.

Please do not enter the school lot during arrival and dismissal unless your child needs special assistance or you have a reason to come to the office. Also, please pay attention to the crossing guards and help us keep all of our students safe!
